Pregnancy, nursing or IVF treatment

There's no safety data on the effects on mother or baby, and the surge in hormones during pregnancy raises the risk of skin darkening (hyperpigmentation). Numbing creams can also reach the baby. We'll happily welcome you once you're past this stage.

Electronic implants — pacemakers & internal defibrillators (ICDs)

NeoGen uses radiofrequency energy, which has the potential to interfere with pacemakers, ICDs and monitoring equipment. The treatment is not used in these circumstances.

Active skin infections or infectious diseases

There's a risk of cross-infection, and an active infection can affect how the skin reacts and recovers. We'll wait until everything has fully settled.

Generally poor health, or unfit for general surgery

Where overall health is compromised there's a higher chance of pigment changes, blistering or burns, and prolonged healing. Your wellbeing comes first.

Recent oral retinoids — Isotretinoin (Roaccutane)

Your last use must be at least six months before treatment. Retinoids cause dryness, sun-sensitivity and pigment changes, so treating sooner carries a high risk of redness, blistering and complications.

Active tan or recent self-tan

Tanned skin risks uneven pigmentation afterwards. Sun exposure and tanning products must be avoided for 3 weeks before and 3–4 weeks after treatment.

When extra care is needed
Possible with caution or medical guidance

Auto-immune disorders

Conditions that affect healing or the skin's response can mean an increased risk of complications and slower recovery, especially where treatment involves steroids or anti-inflammatories. We'll assess this carefully.

Long-term or topical steroid use

Prolonged steroid use thins the skin and can delay wound healing and weaken the skin barrier. We need to understand your usage before proceeding.

A history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring

Where the skin is prone to excessive scarring, any skin trauma carries a higher risk of raised scars and pigment changes. This needs discussing in detail first.

Vitiligo

Skin trauma can trigger new depigmented patches and potentially worsen the condition, so we approach this with real caution.

Blood disorders or poor clotting

Difficulty clotting can affect healing and recovery and increases the chance of complications.

Heart conditions

Because the device uses radiofrequency energy, certain cardiac conditions need to be reviewed before treatment.

A history of cancer

We may need clearance from your doctor or specialist before treating, depending on your individual history.

Certain medications — NSAIDs, blood thinners & others

Some medications affect healing, sensitivity or bleeding. Always bring a full, up-to-date list of what you take to your consultation.

Recent injectables, acne medication or active skincare

Recent treatments, ongoing acne medication, or strong actives (retinol, vitamin C, glycolic) can affect how your skin responds. Acids and exfoliants should be paused, and active skincare stopped around 5 days before. We'll guide you on timing.

A history of cold sores

Treatment can trigger a flare-up, so let us know — preventative medication may be advised beforehand.

Who NeoGen is wonderful for
If this sounds like you

NeoGen EVO is suited to people in good general health who want genuine, long-term skin regeneration rather than a quick fix. Because it works across all skin types, it's a versatile, considered choice.

It's a beautiful option if you're looking to address fine lines, wrinkles, laxity and crepey skin, improve tone, texture and overall skin quality, soften the appearance of scarring or pigmentation, or restore firmness and structure to the face, eyes, neck and décolletage.

The right plan — and the right energy level — is always decided together at your consultation, tailored to your skin, your concerns and the outcome you're after.
