PureDerma is a medical-grade radiofrequency microneedling treatment, working deeper than microneedling alone. To keep you safe and your results at their best, there are some conditions where the treatment isn't suitable, and others where we'd simply plan around it or check with your GP first.
Please read this before booking. Every treatment is best begun with a thorough consultation and a full medical history — none of the points below are necessarily a no, but they do mean we need to talk it through first. If you're ever unsure, just ask.
Pregnancy or breastfeeding
We don't treat during pregnancy or breastfeeding — we'll happily welcome you once you're past this stage.
Pacemaker, defibrillator or other electronic implant
PureDerma delivers radiofrequency energy, which must not be used near implanted electronic devices.
Metal pins, plates or implants in the area
RF energy and metal implants in the area being treated are not compatible.
Active cold sore, skin infection or broken skin
An active infection or broken skin in the area needs to fully heal first.
Active, inflamed acne in the treatment area
Microneedling over active, inflamed acne can spread bacteria, so we wait until it's calm.
Recent oral retinoids — Roaccutane (Isotretinoin)
Your last use must be at least six months before treatment, as retinoids affect how the skin heals.
Active chemotherapy or radiotherapy
Where treatment affects the body's ability to heal, PureDerma isn't appropriate without specialist clearance.
Eczema, psoriasis or rosacea in the area
If there's an active flare where we'd be treating, we'll wait for it to settle or work around it.
A history of keloid or raised (hypertrophic) scarring
Where skin is prone to raised scarring, we discuss this carefully before proceeding.
Blood-thinning medication or a clotting disorder
These can affect bruising and healing, so we may check with your GP first.
Recent injectables in the area
We'll simply time your treatment to fit around recent injectables.
PureDerma is a wonderful choice for people in good general health who want deeper skin remodelling than microneedling alone. By combining microneedling with radiofrequency, it reaches the deeper dermis to firm and resurface.
It's ideal if you're looking to improve skin laxity and firmness, soften acne scarring and deeper texture, refine pores and tone, or rejuvenate the skin's structure for a smoother, tighter finish.
The right plan — whether a single session or a course — is always decided together at your consultation, tailored to your skin and your goals.
Booking an appointment is your confirmation that you've read and understood this page.
That's exactly what the consultation is for. We'll go through your medical history properly, answer every question, and only ever recommend treatment if it's genuinely right for you. Your £50 consultation is redeemable against treatment booked within 30 days.
Book a ConsultationThis page is a guide and not a substitute for professional advice. Suitability for PureDerma RF microneedling is always confirmed individually at consultation, in line with the manufacturer's official guidance. If you have a medical condition not listed here, please mention it when you get in touch.
